Thank you for your interest in the 2005 Community Involvement Conference
Poster Presentations
The poster presentation session provides another avenue for participants to share
information about an interesting project or activity. Participants are encouraged to
prepare and display a poster on their public education and community involvement
projects. These stand-alone visual presentations will be on display during the first
two days of the conference and will be highlighted during the Networking Hour/Poster
Session on Tuesday evening. During this period, participants will have an opportunity
to speak one-on-one with the poster authors.
Awards will be given for the two best posters to recognize those individuals with
the most outstanding poster presentations. A panel of conference organizers will
select the "Best Overall Award" and conference participants will vote on the
"People's Choice Award." After viewing the posters and talking to the poster authors
during the poster session, each participant can cast a vote for the People's Choice
Award by completing a poster ballot. The completed ballots will be collected in ballot
boxes located in the poster area by 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 13.
The awards are open to any conference participant who presents a poster during the
poster sessions. The winner of the Best Overall Award and the People's Choice Award
will be announced during the plenary session on Wednesday, July 13, and the award
recipients will be honored with a prize. In addition, the award-winning posters
will be displayed on this web page after the conference. The posters will be evaluated
on:
- Clarity: Poster has coherent and effective message
- Layout and Design: Poster is well organized and neat (aesthetic
composition)
- Content and Research: Poster content is engaging and original, well planned,
and thoroughly researched
- Readability: Poster is legible from five feet away
Limited space is available for poster presentations and may be requested on a
first-come, first-served basis. If you want more information about the poster
